The YMCA Fencing Club in Salem was created in December of 1999 as a place for people in the community to fence in Salem. We are a classical fencing club and we do not use electrical fencing equipment. 

NEWS: Due to scheduling and space constraints at the Salem Family YMCA, we regret to announce that effective August 3, 2004, the Salem Family YMCA Fencing Club will suspend its activities. There simply isn't enough space available at the Y for us to continue to offer structured activities. We will try to restart the fencing program at the YMCA in the future when there is more space. 

But, all is not lost! 

In the meanwhile, we urge you to fence (or learn to fence) at Salem Classical Fencing. We are trying to negotiate a deal between Salem Classical Fencing and the YMCA that would allow YMCA members to fence at SCF at a discount. We will keep you posted.
